BOXING DAY SPORTS.

THE ATHLETIC CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING. A large number of entries has been received for the annual sports gathering of the Feilding Athletic Club to be held on Boxing Day. Included in the programme are, in addition to the pedestrian and cycling events, pony-jumping for boys and girls, hunters' contests, etc., and, by way of amusement, the club has provided an obstacle race for cyclists and a sack race. The tracks are in splendid order, and the whole ground has been made attractive for competitors and spectators alike. Refreshments are to be obtainable on the ground, the members of the club having followed last year's practice, and undertaken the charge of the refreshment booth themselves. In the. evening a concert is to be held in the drill hall. Amongst the performers will be Mrs Dickson, Madame Groome (Palmerston), Miss Whittle, Mr R. F. Haybittle's orchestra, three members of Mr D. P. Barrett's family (who will render an instrumental selection), Mr F. Groqmbridge (an old professional entertainer), Mr and Mrs J. R. Goodall , who will conclude the programme with a comedy sketch. The piano will be lent by the Dresden Piano Co.
