SPECIAL MEETING. At a special meeting on Saturday special orders were made in referenci to the following loans :— £soo loan toi forming and cullverting 66 chains oi Meßeth's road; £350 loan for th< Pakihikura bridge on Northern Luie £150 loan for the Kawhatau Vallej road, and £600 loan for a bridge ovei tihe Pakihikura stream on the Pakihikura road. ORDINARY MEETING. (Continued: from Saturday's issued Leave of absence was granted to Crs Bruce and Guflhrie. Or. McNeils name was omitted from the list of those present. DEPUTATION. Mr Phyji waited on the Council in reference to a petition from Beaconsfield settlers, asking that steps be taken to check the Kiwitea river encroaching at Beaconsfield. R was decidied that Ors Short, Grice, McNeil, Fowler, the Chairman and engineer view the encroachment before next meeting. FINANCE. Th« Clerk reported that since last meeting the following amounts bad been received ;— Government subsidy . £915; rates, etc., £2392 12s lOd; flioans, £120. The following accounts were passed for payment: County fund, £539 3s 6d; loan account, £437 13s 4d ; Land Fund account, £117 lbs 4d; Rangitikei Cemetery, £lj total, £1095 13s 2d. Credit balance at Bank, £2040 8s 4d. TENDER. The tender of W. Sinclair and Cc was accepted for contract No. 95 at 35s per yard.
