EDUCATION BOARD.
SPECIAL MEETING. [BY TELEGRAPH.] tOCB OWN CORRESPONDENT^ Wanganui, December 4. The Education Board held a special meeting to-day. . Mr W. Rutherfurd was re-appointr-ed to represent the Board on the Palmerston High School Board. Resignations accepted— Miss Hicks (Pukeroa), and P. ODea (Patea). Mrs A. Kennedy was appointed to the charge of the Pohonui school. Leave of absence was granted to T. Wanklyn, M. K. McEwen, and C. Littleborne. It was decided to 'establish a side school at Winniata, near Taihape. The Board is now considering the question of teachers' appointments under the new Act (as outlined in the leading article in to-day's Star).
