Christchurch, March 25. At the Addington Live Stock Market to-day there were large entries of store sheep and fat cattle, and a medium yarding of other classes of stock. Prime beef sold at improved rates. There was a good demand for store sheep. Fat lambs (mostly light sorts) sola at last week's prices. There was a very large yarding of store sheep, including consignments from the North Island and Catham Islands. Forward lambs (wethers) were in strong request. The range cf prices was: Prime wethers 21s to 275, lighter 15s 5d to 20s, prime ewes 20s to 27s 3d. medium 16s 6d to 19s 6d, aged and light 13s to 16s. The entry of fat cattle totalled 300, including several lines of prime steers and a fair quantity of useful sorts. Thero was a good demnad. Prices were steadier at a firmer level than last week. Steers £5 17s 6d +o £10 7s 6d, heifers £5 to £5 10s, cows £4 5s to £9 15s, and extra to £10 C*. equal to 21s to 24s for prime, 18s to 20s for medium, and 16s to 17s 6d for cow and inferior per 1001 b. Veal calves 4s to 43s and 50s, according to size and quality. There was a poor entry of store cat" tle, and little demand. Yearlings 19s, 15 to 18-month 25s to 30s, dry cows 20s to 60s. Dairy cows (springing or newly calved) sold well. Prices ranged from £6 to £9 5s for best, and £3 10s to £5 10s for others. A medium yarding of pigs sold well, especially porkers and large stores. Bacouers made 47s Gd to 57s 01, and heavier 60s to 70s, equal to 5d to b'^d per lb; porkers 35s to 40s, equal to s£d to 5Jd per lb; largo stores 23s to 355; medium 15s to 20s, and weuners 8s to 13s.
