THE SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS [PER PRKfiS ASSOCIATION.] Napier, March 21. The following was the result of the swimming matches held in connection with the carnival: — 220 yds breast stroke. N.Z. Championship—A. M. Russell (Sydenham), i ; G. L. Bull (St. Alban's), 2 ; F. Truscott (Christchurch), 3; F. K. Turnbull (Hawera), 4. Won by, four feet. Time, 3min 17 l-sth sees. 100 yds New Zealand Championship. — M. E. Champion (Auckland) 1, E. J. Dawson (Otago) 2, F. E. Dodge 3. Won easily. Time, lmin 13sec. 880 yds New Zealand Championship. — M. E. Champion 1, B. C. Freyberg 2, H. H. Rich 3. Time, lSmin 4sec. Napier, March 23. The weather promised well early this morning for the swimming and rowing championships, but towards 11 o'clock a heavy squall came over, but cleared after a short time. Maiden Sculls — Christenson (Union, Wanganui) 1, Robertson (Star) 2, Dustin (Gisborne) 3. Won by a length and a half. Time, Bmm 20 sec. The Light-weight Maiden Fours was won by Napier, Gisborno being second and North Shoro third. Tho .race was won by threo lengths. The Champion sculls was won by Whelch, of Aka>roa, McDonald, of Wanganui, second, and Poll, of Napier, third. Green (Wanganui) and Fell (Star) also started. Won by 20 lengths. 220 yds Swimming Championship - Champion 1, Freyburg 2, Dodge 3. Won by four yards. Time, 2.30. Maiden Fours— Napier 1, Canterbury 2, Star "3. Won by three-quar-ters of a length.
