Dunedin, June 19. At the Burnside stock sales to-day about 3000 sheep were penned. In | consequence of over snpply, and as | buyers of freezers were not operat ing, all classes except prime heavyweight wethers suffered a 'decline of about 2s to 3s per head. Prime heavy sheep were rather poorly represented. They sold up to 27s 6d. Quotations— Best wethers 25s to 27f 3d, medium to good 18s to 21s, light 13s 6d to 15s 6d; heavy ewes up to 21s. good 15s to 16s, light and inferior 12s to 14s. Lambs— About 1800 penned, comprising chiefly medium quality and a small proportion of well-finished sorts. Store lambs brought prices a shade lower than last week. Prime lambs also showed a decline of about 2s pen* head. Best lambs 15s 6d to 17s, extra to 19s, medium 13s to 14s, inferior and light 9s to 10s 6d. Pigs— About 140 yarded, including a fair number of suckers and slips, which met with fair competition, and £ rices improved by 2s and 2s 6d per cad. In heavier pigs the entry was not so large as last week, and porkers and baconers sold firm at late values. Suckers 9s to 12s 6d, slips 14s to 17s 6d, stores 23s to 28s, porkers 34s to 355, light baconers 44s to 48s, heavy 52s to 60s. Cattle— About 180 yarded, including some prime quality/ heifers. The demand was good. Prices for unfinished lots were about the same as last week, while good cattle were slightly firmer. Best bullocks £10 to £11 7s 6d, medium £8 5s to £9. inferior £6 10s to £7 10s, best heifers £6 10s to £8, medium £5 5s to £5 15s.
