FOXTON SUB-UNION.
RONGOTEA (0) v. SANDON (11). This match was played at Sandon, a-nd resulted in a win for Sandon by 11 points to nil. The game was very fast, and Rongotea had their opponents pressed very hard several times, but any chance of scoring was spoiled by some of the Rongotea players being too anxious to get the ball out of the scrum. TheyTiad a good forward team, as was plainly Bhown on Saturday. A. Smith, who met with a slight accident, played a sterling game, as did J. Duke. Mr D. H. Bowater had charge of the game and proved a satisfactory ieferee. AWAHOU v. ALBION. The match, played at Foxton, resulted, Awahtfu 3, Albion nil. The schoolboys' fixture for last Saturday was Sandon v. Rongotea, at Sandon, but owing to Rongotea not putting in an appearance, the local boys went through the formality of lining up and kicking off, and then got up a scratch match among themselves. The following team will represent Rongotea against Awahou, at Foxton, on Saturday next:— F. Burgess, W. Parkinson, Anderson, E. Burgess, Cox, S. Burgess, P. Gleeson, Smith, J. Rowe, McColl, Wibbens, W. Rowe, Jackson, J. Gleeson, J. Duke. All players are requested to turn out for practice every night this week.
