Several interesting matches were got off on the local links yesterday. In the morning a bogey match for a trophy, presented by Col. Gorton, resulted in a tie by Mr Spain and Mr Levin. The best cards were Spain 4 down. Levin 4, Garrett 8, Home 8, L. Gorton B,. Lewis 9, Grut 11, Bailey 11, McCorkindale 13. In the afternoon, mixed foursomes were played for trophies presented by Mr Pryde, which also resulted in a tie, Mr Garrett and Miss Jessie Mailey, and Mr Grut and Miss Julia Bailey handing in cards 6 up. The scores for this match were: — Mr Grut and Miss Julia Bailey 6 up, Mr Garrett and Miss Jessie Bailey 6 up, Mr R. Bailey and Miss S. Bailey 3 up, Mr Spain and Miss Mackay 2 up, Mr Lennon and Mrs Lennoh 2 up, Mr Gillespie and Mrs Gillespie 4 down. The ties will be played off at any time to suit the players.
