Freeman 11. Jackson and Co. reAt our Wanganui sale on the 29th instant we yarded 550 mixed cattle, 3300 mixed sheep, and 60 pigs. Messrs Buckland and Sons, Auckland,, report: — Horses. — Friday being a holiday, we held no sale. Cattle. — Stock of all classes was well represented at Kemuera on Thursday and sold freely throughout, cows near profit selling at £7 10s, dry £3 10s. Fat young calves, in full supply, brought from 23s to £3 2s (113 sold). There was a full yarding of fat cattle, which soW well up to late values, ox beef selling to 225, cow to 18s per 1001 b (249 sold). One thousand eight hundred and seventy sheep were yarded, and sold freely throughout, best wethers selling to 265, lighter weights to 21s, heavy ewes to 21s 6d, others to 18s, best hoggets to 17s 6d, smaller to 14s. Pigs were in average numbers. Small were from 5s to 10s, porkers to 30s. baconers to 40s (141 sold). Hides, skins, tallow, etc. — Hides: Ox 53d to 7j}d, cow 5d to sfd, calf 6d to 6d. horse 12s to 14s, damaged hides 3d to sd, horsehair Is 3d, tallow 25s to 265, bones £4 15s to £5. Skins: Best butchers' 4s 8d to ss, medium 3s 5d to 4s 3d, small and damaged Is 5d to 4s Id. Messrs Dalgety and Coy., Ltd., report on their usual weekly sale at Feilding as follows: — We had a medium entry of sheep and cattle. Bidding was not brisk at auction, but we disposed of the bulk of our yarding at satisfactory prices. Quotations : Sheep : Lambs 9s to 12s, 2-tooth wethers 16s 9d, 2-tooth to f.f.m. ewes in lamb 18s. Cattle: 2-year steers £2 ss; fat and forward cows £3 to £3 10s ; store cows £1 15s to £2 4s; cows in calf £2 Is to £3; weanors (good) 24s to 255.
