[PU nSBS ASBOCUTION.] Auckland, June 4. A private cable reports the arrival of the Melanesian Mission steas mer- Southern Cross at Norfolk Island. The stations visited reported ail well, and the missionaries in good health. Auckland, June 4. At the Supreme Court, John Bennett, a middle aged man, was sentenced to three years for criminally assaulting a Maori girl. William James Lyons, for perjury, received six months'. The Nautical Court found the barque Manurawa and scow Vesper both blameable for the collision, in neglecting to maintain a proper look-out. The Manurewa's responsibility is apportioned at two-thirds and the Vesper's at one-third. Costs awarded on this basis. The captains' certificates were not dealt with. :.„.„,„
