Over-planting on vineyards in the South of France and adulteration in other centres has caused much local distress, and some rioting. The Town Hall at Biziers was burnt because the Mayor obstructed tho demonstration. INDIAN UNREST. Calcutta, May 20. The differences between the Hindoos and Mahommedans are likely to be modified by the decision of conference leaders on both sides of East Bengal, that Madommedans may buy and sell foreign goods without interference.
