AUCKLAND A. & P. SHOW.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, November 30. The annual Show, held under the auspices of the Auckland Agricultural aud Pastoral Association today, proved a great success. A teature of the Show was the great number of ponies exhibited. In an about 100 were entered, including seven entires, and it is safe to say tbat never before has there boen such a pretty show of pet ponies in Auckland. Horses were fairly represented, although owing to the Show being later this year a less number of si alliens were exhibited. As befits a pastoral and dairying district, the exhibits of cattle are very numerous. In fact, never before has there been so many shown in Auckland. The exhibition of dairy produce is, with one exception, the largest that has ever been held throughout the whole colony. • That exception was the Palmerston North Winter Show last year, when there was a slight increase over the present exhibition. The quality throughout has been well maintained, the flavour of tbe first pi ize butter in the dairymen's class being particularly good. The same remark also applies to the second pi ize exhibition in this class, the judges having the greatest difficulty in separating the first and second pi ize winners. One noticeable feature is that there is very little low scoring. The following are the championship awards; — Draught Horses.— Entire, John Suchliffoa Pride of Chentole; mare, R. Nicholls' Miss Blythe. Cattle. — Shorthorn bull, William Taylor's Frederick Edward; Polled Aifeus bull, H. A. Swaffield's entry. Sheep.— Lincoln ram, C. T Barrihall; Lincoln pen of two ewes, sucklint lambs, C. T. Barriball; English Leicester ewe, 18 months or over, suckling lambs, Johu Gordon; Border Leicester ram, Slack Bros. ; Romney March urn, Woodward Bios. '/ Shropshire Down ram, Thos. Contes; Shropshire Down ewe, suckling lambs, Mr A. E. Rhodes. Pigs.— Berkshire boar, the Costle* Heme's Carbine; Yorkshire boar, the Costlev Home's Regal Yorkshire; bleeding sow, the Costley Home's iVusfield Favourite.
