WOOL AND SKIN SALE

A. H. Atkinson reports on his | Feilding wool, skin, and hide sale : — An extensive catalogue, comprising . 199 bales and 830 bag lots of wool, . 1100 skins, 480 hides, 2 tons of tallow, and a large quantity of horse- , hair, etc., was offered yesterday, and • attracted a large attendance of ; buyers and interested vendors. The ■ bale wool catalogued was mostly ' coarse and medium crossbred, and \ made values on a par with those ; ruling in the big centres, the bulk of , it being cleared. Pieces, etc., sold . well. There" was a lively demand r for skins, pelts reaching the record • price of 8s lid. The competition '< for hides was exceptionally keen, and prices reached were considerably 1 in advance of any yet touched at ; these sales. Tallow, horsehair, etc., > sold at high rates.
