Telegraph Press Association Copyright Auckland, Nov. 29. The police were informed on Sunday that a very strange shooting affair had occurred in Grey Street. The victim, a youth named Dodson, had to be taken to a private hospital suffering from a bullet wound in the right hand, he explained that s strange man had shot at him and run away. A detective was directed to investigate the mystery, snd today it was completely cleared op, Dodson making a statement that the mysterious man who ran away was an invention of his own. He bad been playing witb a toy revolver on Sunday evening, and while putting it in his pocket he injured himself by accidentally letting it off. As he was airaid tbat bis parents would be angry with him for buying tbe revolver, he made up the story to deceive them.
