AN EXPLANATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sat,— Re Mr Haggitt's letter to myself in Saturday's issue, I merely say that I had nothing whatever to do with the report given to the Star, I leave the resolution of last night's committee meeting to deal with the matter. I, with others, hoped that when our Mayor had the affair explained to him he would decide again to take his usual place at a large meeting of Feildiog citizens. I am, etc., J. C. Thompson.
