Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd. report as follows : — At Colyton on Tuesday we had a full entry of cattle. Sheep were {in short supply. The attendance was good and bidding brisk and very little stock went out unsold. On Wednesday we held a sale of dairy stock on account of Mr B. Shorthall, of Colyton. The demand for cows m profit was good, all being sold at an average of £8 12. . The prices ranging from £7 to £10. At Falmerston on Thursday we had an exceptionally heavy yarding of cattle, over 1000 head being brought under the hammer, which, with the exception of three pens all found purchasers at recent rates, buyers were present from a distance and bidding was brisk throughout the sale. The sale for sheep dragged a bit and two large lines of wethers failed to find purchasers. We quote at Co!yton — 4-toofch wethers, 12s 9d; 2 and4-tooth ewes, 11s 8d ; store ewes, 7s 6d ; ewes and lambs, all counted, 6s 7d to 6s lOd ; fat ewes, 10s 5s to 12s ; 2-year steers, £4 ss : yeajj|jfeg and , 18-month steers £2 14s; yearling steers, £2 18s ; yearling heifers, £2 8s 6d ; empty 18-month heifers, £3 12s 6d ; weaners, 25s to £2 2s 6d; springing jjows, £5 10s; cows and calves, £5 3s 6d to £5 ISs ; fat cows £6 10s.
