THE DEATH PENALTY.
Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Melbourne, April 14. McNamara was hanged at Melbourne gaol for the murder of his son through burning a dwelling house. He attempted suicide by dashing his head against tbe bars of the cell after breakfast, inflicting a gash in bis head. He declared his innocence on the scaffold. Death was instantaneous.
