FEARFUL GALES. GREAT LOSS OF LIFE.
[By Electric Telegraph— Copyright.] (Per Press Association) London, November 14. The gale in the United Kingdom continues in Northumberland, Durham and Yorkshire. The coast is strewn with wreckage. { It is feared hundreds of people have been drowned owing to unidentified vessels foundering. The revenue cutter Active was dashed to pieces at Granton breakwater, Firth of Forth. The captain and twenty men were drowned. The steamer Inga struck the rocks at Tynemouth. All on board were drowned, excepting one sailor. Many minor wrecks occurred yesterday. The known deaths total 100. ;
