Fire in Auckland.

A fire occurred in Customs street this morning, causing the total destruction of several warehouses The total damage is estimated at about LIOO.OOO, The fire started in Bond and Bell's warehouse, and spread to Owen and Coy's. andL. D. Nathan's bonded store, all three being completely destroyed with their contents as well, also Wheeler's business in Nathan's buildings and Tucker's baking powder factory in Owen's buildings. Nathan's was insured for L 51.000 in the Norwich Union, and he estimates his loss at L 20,000 above that amount. This Day. Messrs Nathan's re insurances include L 2500 Commercial Union, L 2500 South British, L 250 Phoenix. The American Tobacco Coy. lost in Nathan's bond, cigarettes and tobacco worth L6OOO. It was fully covered in the Norwich office. Wheeler was insured in the New Zealand, but expect* to be a heavy loser, Bond and Bell were insured for LI 4OO in the Phoenix, and LBOO in tbe Alliance. It is expected he will lose L7OO additional. Their building was owned by Yatee, and was insured for L4OOO. Latest. The fire yesterday was among the most disastrous that ever visited the city. The total loss cannot be far short of L 90.000, insurances covering all but L 21.500, of which sum L 20.000 fell upon Nathan and Coy.
