The Premier's Tour.
Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright Auckland, November 25. The Premier addressed a meeting at Te Puke on Wednesday, and at Whakatane on Thursday. He had an enthusiastic reception and votes of thanks and confidence at each place. He was also banquetted, and arrived at Opotiki yesterdaj 7 , and was met by the reception committee and a large public gathering. He was entertained at luncheon and driven round the district. A deputation from the County Council urged the necessity for railway communication between Gisborne and Eotorua, and the Premier promised to give the matter the fullest consideration. He addressed a meeting in the evening. Referring to the Palmerston meeting he said no one there could deny that the vote of thanks and confidence was carried by an overwhelming majority, after himself and the chairman haying failed to get a hearing for Mr Pirani as speaker, self appointed chairman, and mover of the amendment declared it carried. At the conclusion of the Opotiki address Mr Seddon received an almost unanimous vote of thanks and confidence. He speaks at Auckland next Tuesday Auckland, This Day . Mr Seddon addressed the largest meeting ever held in Waihi on Saturday uight. He said that at Opotiki be liad found men who declared that Wrigg did take a ride and risked his life, and that some of the statements made at the enquiry "were false. That enquiry cost £500, Marine enquiry i? 3000, the Police Commission £5000. The latter hastened the deaths of two of the best inspectors of police, who had served the country well and who were retired. Ho compared the grants to the goldfie ds made by the present and previous Governments and said this year "We v i l export half a million more than in thi yesr pre^ioris." A vote of thauks and confidence was cirried amid great cheering. •
