A young man named Qainn, exwarder of the Arrarat asylam, shot his wife dead in Albert Park, bat failed in an attempt to destroy himself by shooting and drowning. He then delivered himself op to the police. In his statement to the officers he said he was oat of work and destitute. His wife and he had decided to commit suicide together. His wife attempted to shoot herself, and failed. He then seized a revolver and shot her, but made futile attempts to shoot himself. The woman was a native of Greymouth, New Zealand, and had been previously married.
