Manchester Road Board.

The regular monthly meeting of the above board was held yesterday afternoon. Present — Messrs F. Y. Lethbridge (chairman), H. J. Booth, G. Wheeler, A. Conway, W. G. Pearco. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Correspondence was received and dealt with as follows : — From W. Rutherford, clerk Hospital and C. A. Board, asking for particulars of persons receiving Charitable aid. From E. Giesen stating sections 326---327 and 328, Ashurst, are now in occupa- , tion of the Wellington Diocesan Board , of trustees and requesting that they be placed on rate roll for same. From Treasury, voucher for iM2O, loan for this Board's share of cost for Mangaone Creek bridge. i From J. Evensen, Cheltenham, requesting that a hole opposite his store be filled. From clerk Rangitikei County Council requesting this Board to raise a loan for its share of cost of repairs to Onepuhi bridge. Resolved, That Messrs Lethbridge and Booth be appointed members of the Palmerston Hospital and Charitable Aid Board. Proposed by Mr Wheeler seconded by Mr Pearce, That Mr Conway and the Engineer inspect the road diversion pro posed by the Pohangina County Council and report at the next meeting of this Board. •Resolutions were passed that a loan of J £951 be raised under the Loans to Local Bodies Act for the purpose of paying one third of the cost of repairs to Onepuhi bridge, a special rate of one-fiftieth part of a penny in the £ be levied to cover interest on same ; also a loan ef 1500 for providing four-sixteenth of cost of Kiwitea bridge in the Feilding borough, a special rate of one- hundredth of a penny in the £ be struck to cover in- ; terest on same; also loan of 18s lOcl to cover cost of erecting bridge across Stoney Creek on Henderson's line, a rate of two hundredths of a penny to be levied, to pay interest on same. The Board then adjourned.
