* At the Auckland Trotting Meeting on the second day, Minnie won the Maiden Trot Handicap, paying a dividend of £35 15s, for a 10s ticket. There was considerable excitement over the allegation that another ticket was being rung on after the race had started. Two had been taken inside, aud two outside, and the fifth ticket couicl Dot be accounted for. The proprietor found only fonr sold, and accordingly only four Avere paid. There was another scene later on owing to a number of false starts in. the Stewards' Handicap, and much disorder ensued. Kit won the April Handicap, paying £30 12s.
