The Stock Market.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report : —A moderate enlry of sheep came forward at Palmerston yesterday. Store and forward wethers went off freely, but for other classes the demand was weak under tbe hammer ; private dealing ultimately affected a clearance of any unsold lots. A fair entry of cattle penned, the market was dull in tbe extreme, so that little business took place. Cattle — Fat cows, L 4; fat bullocks, L 5 2s 6d ; cows and calves, L 2 10s ; 18mos. steers, L 2 to L2ss ; strong weaners, 22s 6d : indifferent do. 13s 6d. Sheep — Forward wethers, 6s 9d to 7s 6d ; store wethers, 5s to 5s IOd ; fat ewes, 5s 6d ; shorn lamb?, 2s 6d to 3a 2d ; cull ewes, ls 3d to 2s 6d.
