TUAKAU BRANCH AFFAIRS ANNUAL MEETING HELD The president, Mrs S. .1. Conelly, presided over a good attendance at the annual meeting of the Tuakau Plunket Society. The president and secretary of the Franklin Society, Mrs N .M. Bradanovich and Mi's L. G. Sharp, respectively, were present. The president, in reviewing the past year’s activities, stated: —“The year just ended has been very satisfactory in every way considering conditions at the present time. Our first effort to raise funds was a dance which the ladies’ old-time committee very kindly held in the Tuakau town hall. This was a great success and our funds benefited considerably. We also held a Plunket fair in the town hall, this being an outstanding success. It was very pleasing indeed to see such a number present. I would like to thank all who helped us With both functions. It is with deep regret that we record the passing of two of our members: Mrs S. Crawford who was our patroness, and Mrs Jack ColeBaker who was a vice-president. Both these members were on our committee for several years and were very keen supporters of the society and were always willing to do their best to assist us. I wish to thank all subscribers, all who have helped us with donations, and Mr and Mrs Wallace, the honorary auditor, Mr M. R. D. McGahan, the committee for its support, and our very efficient secretary, Mrs A. V. Wright.” The report was adopted and Ihe president thanked. The balance sheet showed a satisfactory position. Officers elected were: Patroness, Mrs 11. A. Madid: president, Mrs F Burnett; vice-presidents, Mrs S. J. Conelly, Mrs A. A. Boyd (Tuakau) Mrs L. Ryan (Whangarata), Mrs C. Orr (Pukekawa) and Mrs .1. Henderson (Onewhero) : secretary, Mrs A. V. Wright: auditor, Mr M. R. D. McGahan : committee. Mrs W. A. Pvatt, Mrs R. S. Moekett, Mrs P. Graham, Mrs Gregory. Mrs E. Wild, Mrs G. Bakalich. Mrs L. Morris, Mrs L. Goodall. Mrs A. F. Esc.ott. Mrs K. Watson, Mrs M. A. Gruickshank and Mrs A Smeod.
