Tin Hats Issued. Tin hats have been issued to the fifth, sixth and seventh platoons of B Company, Tuakau Home Guard. Tonight’s Cheerio Dance. A final reminder is given of the cheerio dance to he held in the Masonic hall tonight in honour of four men of the Armed Forces who are visiting relatives and friends in Pukekohe. Pukekohe Rugby Union. The annual meeting of the Pukekohe Rugby Union will be held in the Masonic hall supper room tomorrow night at 8 o’clock. All interested are expected to attend when the future ol the sub-union will be discussed. Tuakau’s Fine Record. Last week Tuakau again raised its quota of National Savings, and up to yesterday half this week’s quota had been deposited. Only once since the campaign opened lias Tuakau failed to raise its £IOB. Early Lambs. Early lambs made their appearance at Marist Brothers’ College, Tuakau, about, a fortnight ago. As far as is known they ar,e the first of the season, an honour which usually goes to Karaka. Armed Forces Club. There has been a fair response so far to the appeal by the Pukekohe Returned Soldiers’ Association for gifts of furniture and furnishings for the Armed Forces Club it has established in Roulston Brothers’ buildings in Lower King Street. Further gifts are urgently needed. A Further Adjournment. The liquor case, partly heard at the Pukekohe Court a fortnight ago by the Magistrate, Mr F. 11. Levien, and adjourned until today to enable (he Magistrate to determine a legal point, was again adjourned at a sitting of the Court today on account of the absence of the Magistrate. The completion of the hearing is now set down for May j.'L
