ST. JOHN’S LADIES’ GUILD SOCIAL AFTEPNOON AT TUAKAU - GIFTS FOR NOVEMBER BAZAAR The monthly meeting of St. John's Ladies’ Guild was held at the Vicarage, Tuakau, on Thursday of last week. After a short business meeting the gathering took the form of-a social afternoon. Mrs Currant resigned from l lie office of secretary to the guild, for health reasons, and Mrs A. Hodgson was unanimously elected in her stead. Mrs Coleman welcomed members and guests in her usual charming manner. The room was gay with spring flowers, while a glowing lire made the surroundings very rosy.,. A pleasant time was passed with competitions and music, Mrs Coleman playing two items very delightfully. Competitions were won by Mrs J. Pellow and Mrs 11. Bush. A good number of aprons for the November bazaar were brought by members who had agreed at the previous meeting to bring “an apron, a plate and a guest.” A tempting tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames J. Pellow and F. Ryder, and the gathering dispersed after spending a very happy time.
