AN ACUTE SHORTAGE POSITION REALLY SERIOUS AP P R Ell ENSiON EX P RESSE I) BY FRANKLIN DAIRY FARMERS “The position of farm labour is really very serious.” said one of the directors at the annual meeting of the Franklin Co-operative Dairy Company, Limbed, at Tuakau yesterday. “Willi the best will in tlie world the farmer cannot keep production up unless lie can gel more labour. The Government is well aware of Hie position, hut every time the question is brought up it merely gives us more soothing words and nothing is done. \Vlien the rush period comes in November and December the farmer is going to be really up against it.” he added. After several oilier speakers had contributed to the discussion the following resolulioh was carried: "Thai this meeting expresses its apprehension regarding the farm labour position, and also its disappointment, that the Government, in spile of numerous protests made, has out managed to take any adequate steps to deal with the position.”
