Result of the Poll.
When a spokesman' a I the Papakura Borough Council meeting asked that a certain work be undertaken which would cost hundreds of pounds, the Mayor (Mr S. Evans) replied that the council could not pledge its successors. The present council had only eight weeks to go, he said. “I take it. for granted,” said the spokesman, “that you’ll all be in again.” This statement produced a very broad smile on the City Fathers.
