THEFT FROM CARAVAN
OFFENCE AT MERCER ACCUSED CONVICTED Samuel Frederick Wassell, of Mercer, appeared in the Pukekohe Police court on Wednesday before Mr F. 11. Lovien, SAL. charged with theft, of goods to the value of £7 2s (id from a caravan at Mercer on February 1.6. He was convicted and lined £4 and costs. Constable F. T. Wakelin said that following a complaint he interviewed accused who admitted removing the goods from Ihe caravan in the absence of the owner, who, he said, owed him money. Accused said that he thought lie was quite within his rights to remove the goods until complainant paid fho money owing. The magistrate, in imposing the penalty stated, said that, he could not believe accused’s story.
