PETROL TAKEN
REPLACED WITH WATER A FARMER’S MISFORTUNE A farmer-motorist residing near Paeroa reports an unusual experience, says the Paeroa paper. He returned from Paeroa alter filling ids petrol lank and locked his car in Ids garage over night, leaving the key in its usual hiding place near the garage. Next day he. drove about a mile from his home when the engine stopped. On investigation it was found that the lank had been drained of all petrol and water had been substituted. The petrol in the vacuum tank carried the car a short distance and water was then drawn into the carburet tor and the engine slopped.
