Spectacular Spills in Cycle Events

NO ONE INJURED FRANKLIN CLUB’S FIXTURE \Y. MASON WINS A TREBLE \Y KELLY STILL IN WINN INC MOOD There were two spectacular spills during the running of cycle races at the Franklin Amateur Athletic Club’s weekly sports on Tuesday evening, but fortunately no one was injured.

The heavy dew made the grass track slippery and it was with difficulty that some of the riders took the bends. In both races the same four cyclists were involved, three from Papakura and one from Pukekolie. The only damage to the machines was a broken rim and a broken axle.

There was a larger attendance than usual at the fixture and some interesting running was seen. W. Mason and W. Kelly, the leaders for the Kohn cup, were again to the fore and added t-' their already large tally of points.
