PUKEKOHE BRANCH EASTER CONFERENCE DISCUSSED The monthly meeting of the Pukekohe branch of the New Zealand Labour Party was held in the Orange ball on Saturday night, Mr A. Best presiding over a good attendance. Mr N. L. Shields was elected delegate to the Easter Conference. Tlie branch decided to support Mr R. Coulter of Te Arolia. for Ihe fourth divisional area, Mr D. G. McMillan, M.P., as national president. Mr .I. Barclay. M.P.. as vice-president, and Mr Morion as national secretary. The delegate was given a free hand to vote for members on the general exccutive. The remits for the conference were discussed. Hie subjects including education. health, social security, defence, native affairs, transport, daylight saving, import control, internal marketing, cost of living and sport. For several months a committee has been at work condensing and irranging nearly a thousand remits sent in from Hie branches' and has finally reduced Ihe number to 53. I! was reported that money was coining in freely for the Labour dailies, the local branch having reached its quota.
