Jay the Franklin Racing Club on the eve of his departure for Melbourne, and the presentation of a wallet of bank notes, will be published on Friday. Swimming Carnival. A reminder is given swimmers, and all interested in the sport, that a monster carnival, arranged by the Pukekohe Swimming Club, will be held in the Municipal baths on Saturday. next commencing at 1 p.m. A comprehensive and varied programme has been drawn up. [Air Dell said he had heard numerous ; complaints about New Zealand and they concerned the lack of first-class hotel accommodation for tourists and the difficulty in obtaining meals after the regular dinner hour. Americans also spoke of the restrictions in New Zealand and he had heard it said that certain Americans and others from" Europe would not go to New Zealand for a holiday on this account.
