The Elimination of a Bad Comer
AT THE TUAKAU SCHOOL COMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION BUSINESS AT MARCH MEETING Attention was drawn to the bad visibility at the scorner of School road and the Pukekohe highway by the Tuakau school committee at its March meeting. j The following members were present: Messrs W. C. Pyatt (in the ’chair), T. G. Morgan, T. Malcolmson, J. Thomas, A. I-larker ancl A. B. Fordyce (headmaster). i The chairman said that an improvement could he effected by cutting down the present hedge along school road, erecting a new fence, and planting another hedge. The corner could he rounded off at the same time, making for better visibility and greater safety. As it was, the present fence was all in pieces, and the hedge itself very scraggy. It was decided to approach the Education Board and ask for authority to proceed with the work. The chairman reported that nothing further had been heard about the new central heating which the committee was informed before Christmas would be installed at Tuakau. With winter coming on, the committee would want definite information, as there were such tilings as firing to be considered. It was decided to write to the board requesting a definite date for the installation of the new system. It was decided to hold the annual “bring and buy” for the scho&l funds, next week.
