DENTAL CLINIC
THE TUAKAU COMMITTEE FIRST MEETING The first meeting 'of the new Tuakau dental, clinic committee was held last week when I lie following were present: Mr W. Pyaft (chairman), Mrs W. G. Graham. Mrs G. Bakalich, Messrs 11. W. Goles, A. D. Whitehead. W. Parry, A. B. Fordyce, T. Maleolmson and 0. W. Howe. The organisation was set in motion l'or the examination of children and it was stated that the nurse would he in attendance in the near future. That approximately 200 children would come under the clinic was emphasised by the chairman who stated that the number of children would rise at a rale of GO per year until it became a full-time clinic. If a child did not receive treatment in the primer classes he, or she, would not be eligible to receive it in the standards. On the advice received from the superintendent of denial clinics, Mr Rice, the committee decided to defer the opening of the clinic until it readied fid! working order. It was decided to write to the Minister of Education, the Hon. P. Fraser, asking him.to officially open the clinic. A gala function is to be held on the afternoon of the opening day and all schools affiliated with the clinic will take part.
