Boisterous Week-End. After a period of calm and fine weather, conditions look a sudden change over the week-end when heavy l’ain, thunder and lightning were experienced. The change was attended hy a drop in the temperature, log tires being the order of the day. Saturday afternoon was fine but cold. Rain began to fall about 9 p.m. and continued throughout the evening and yesterday. The sudden change can possibly be attributed to the equinoxal gales which generally commence during the latter half of September. No serious damage to crops as a result of the week-end disturbances has been reported, although hail stones would not benefit onions and such crops.
