ORANGE BLOSSOMS.
MATHESON —RICHARDSON. WEDDING AT PAPAKURA. The bride, Miss Hilda Florence Richardson, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Richardson, Great South road, Papakura, and the bridegroom, Mr Alexander Robert Matheson, youngest son of Mr and Mrs John Matheson, Wairoa road, Papakura, have just returned from their honeymoon and have now taken up their residence at Waiau Pa. .
The wedding, one of the prettiest this Easter, was celebrated on April 27, 1935, at the Methodist church, Papakura, the Rev. Walter Parker officiating.
• The church- was artistically decorated with pretty trellis arches, one mid-way down the isle and another over the bridal party lending a very appearance. •
The bride, who was given away by lief father, looked sweet and graceful in a charming gown of white georgette and lace, which moulded the figure and swept out into a long train. The bodice had a softly draped cowl of lace and was finished with a spray of orange blossom. The veil was held with a coronet of orange blossom and flared out to form a second and longer train. She carried a sheaf bouquet of St. Joseph lilies and roses and among the ribbons hung a tiny silver horse shoe. In attendance as bridesmaids were Miss Flora Kidd, cousin of the bridegroom, and Miss May Wallis, cousin of the bride, who looked very attractive in long frocks of moss rose pink georgette with dainty frills at the shoulders and hips, their bewitching hats tilted on one side were of silver lame and dozens of tiny velvet flowers. They each carried a shower bouquet of pink dahlaias. set with a blue water lily.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr Stan Richardson, brother of the bride, as best man, and Mr .Tack Kidd, cousin of the bridegroom as groomsman.
A reception was held in the Methodist hall, which was decorated on similar lines to the church. Mrs Arthur Richardson received the guests wearing a smart navy blue frock with hat and fur . to match and carried a bouquet of marigolds and maiden-hair fern.
Mrs John Matheson wore a royal blue ensemble with hat and fur to tone and carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers.
In the evening a social was held, during which the bridal couple left by car for a tour of the North Island. The bride travelled in crocus blue with hat to tone and fox furs, the gifts of the bridegroom.
