PENNANTMWATCHES. PAPAKURA RINKS BEATEN. Papakura was again defeated in Saturday’s matches, the Ponsonby club registering two wins. The rink skipped by Bates, which played at Ponsonby, went down 20 —27, but a closer game eventuated •on the local green. Carbines, Galloway, Payne, McLeod, 23, beat Hunt, Munro, Coldiputt, H. E. McEntee 21. McEntee was leading 21 —10 on the last head when the visitors scored a good four to win the match. The other members of the club had a progressive pairs contest. The winning lead was G. Hobson and the winning skip S. D. Rice. The competition was very enjoyable and most of the games were evenly contested.
