CONCLUDED ON FRIDAY. I COMPETITION WINNERS. The sunflower fair, arranged by St. Andrew’s Ladies’ Guild, was concluded on Friday evening, the financial re- ; suit being much below that of last year. The High School picnic, which clashed with the fair, attracted many who otherwise would have patronised ! the sale of work. Competitions resulted: Cockerel, Mr L. Gurney, 88; box of chocolates, Miss : Jean Wilkinson and Mr W. Brown (equal), 41; Duchess set, No. 2, Miss Matuschka; cake, Mr G. Haslam, 41bs 6ozs; patchwork quilt, Miss W. Campbell, 197; silk dressing gown, Mrs M. G. Lawson with a guess of 31bs 7ozs. The exact weight of the parcel was 31b 0 jozs. Bagatelle, Thursday evening, Mr F. Browui and Mrs J. P. Cowie; Friday evening, Miss Molly Jamieson, Miss Marjorie Jamieson and Master Stan Wilson; Duchess set No. 1, Mrs Hinton: rooster and hens, Mrs Cheeseman and the Rev. J. P. Cowie tied with | a guess of 382, and Mr Cowie generously w'aived his share in favour of the lady; box of chocolates, No. 2, Mr R. Deed, 51; consolation, Mr R. Meyer: basket, Mrs Price, 239; solid leather sachet case, Miss Betty Schofield. The length of the tape was 10 yds If inches and the winner’s estimate was 10'. yds; spring lamb, Mr M. C. Lawson, 37.
