GLENBROOK MEETING.
SECOND BIRTHDAY CELEBRATED
The second birthday of the Glenj brook Women’s Institute attracted i | large attendance. The president, Mrs 1 H. C. Hay, after welcoming visitors ,i from sister institutes and other guests, j was presented with a posy. 1 .. j - After the singnig of the National Anj them, the following programme' was I presented: Pianoforte ;duet, Mrs Mit- ; chell and Miss Kayes: songs, Mrs Keyte; monologues, Miss Toogood; songs, Mr Waugh; instrumental duet, . Messrs Hart and Brown: songs and choruses, junior members; songs, Mrs Knight: trio, Misses Whitham, Lowe and Hodgkinson: one act play, Mes-. dames Hepburn, Tilt and Prendergast. For the cutting of the two-tiered birthday cake, the visiting presidents were invited on to the stage. The president expressed to Mesdames H. Wymer, Rothery and West her gratitude for their work in making and preparing the cake. . On behalf of the visitors, Mr J. T. Barton conveyed thanks to the members for their invitation.
