CHRISTMAS CARNIVAL.

Sir,—Pukekohe strikes me as a being a dead sort of a place. Perhaps its nearness to the City has something to do with this condition. With the idea of brightening up the festive season, may I be allowed to suggest that the businesspeople get busy and arrange a Christmas carnival. Te Awamutu holds a carnival at Christmas, and possibly the bus.inesspeople there would be glad to furnish details. Here is a goocj opportunty for the Chamber of Commerce to. show what it is made of.—-I am, etc.,

I , “FERNLEAF.” Pukekohe, November 1, 1934 .
