PAPAKURA PRESBYTERIAN CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING HELD. i The annual meeting of the Papakura ' Presbyterian Tennis Club was held on Monday, there being a very fair attendance. The secretary’s report and . treasurer's statement showed the club , to he in a satisfactory financial condi- ' t.ion. Membership now stands at 35. ; Working bees are being held and it is hoped to have three courts in good trim for the commencement of the season. The annual club tournament resulted as follows, trophies having been previously presented : —Ladies' handicap singles, Miss N. Wilson: men’s handicap singles, Mr L. K. Garlick: ladies’ doubles, Misses L. and 3. Collins: combined doubles. Mr J. R. Wilson and Miss S. Bates. Six matches were played during the season: five were won and one drawn. The standard of play is steadily rising. .
The election of officers resulted: —- Patron, Mr E. D. McLennan: joint presidents, Rev. G. M. Yule and Mr J. R. Wilson; vice-presidents, Messrs T. G. Dunekley, W. A. Pavitt, C. Garlick. L. Yelavitch, D. McLennan junr., J. Miller and W. Kidd: captain, Mr R. C. R. Garlick: vice-captain. Miss N. Wilson: secretary, Mr J. Fraser; treasurer. Miss C. Brown: auditor, Mr T. G. Dunekley: grounds committee, Rev. G. M. Yule. Messrs ,T. R. Wilson. L. Yelavitch and L. K. Garlick: afternoon ten committee. Misses H. Garlick, P. Brown. S. Bates and C. Yule. The opening uSy Y r as arranged for Saturday. October 7. at ft p.m.. thd pali'oiit Mi 1 E. 0. McLennan, is to perform tile Ceremony.
