This will be a benefit match for an injured player, Scotty Kara, who broke a leg in the Manukau-Pukekohe match, at Pukekohe:— McDowall, Ballard, Dow, Hodgins, Halliwell, E. Cossey, Hogan, Aitcheson, R. Cossey, Waterhouse, Fogai'ty, Sinton, Miller, Callagan and Heard. Reserves: Roberts, Howarth and Andrews. THIRDS BEAT SECONDS. MARGIN OF SEVEN POINTS. Oil Saturday one of the best games of Rugby seen in Papakura this season was played between the Manukau third grade representatives and a scratch junior team, the former winning by 10 points (an unconverted try, n penalty goal and a potted goal) to three (a penalty goal). 1). Orum was the third grade star, in fact he was the best back on the field. He kicked the penalty and the field goal, and did a tremendous lot of rush-stopping. He also set his backs going at every opportunity. Both sets of hacks put in some bright flashes. The tackling of both teams was good. Roth packs did plenty of passing and the footrushes were a treat to watch and once started took a lor of stopping. Football of this standard will soon command a good following and next season should see a strong revival of the good old game.
