TUAKAU BRANCH.
MEETING OF EXECUTIVE
At a meeting of the executive of the Tuakau branch of the Franklin Returned Soldiers' Association, Mr Wm. Barnaby presided over a full attendance. With the view of increasing the membership, it was decided to hold a social evening at Onewhero on a date to be arranged. It is expected that all officers of the branch, together with the association president and secretary, Messrs S. P. Day and E. G. Moncrief, will attend the function.
The question of obtaining furniture and appropriate pictures for the soldiers' room at the Tuakau Memorial Hall was discussed, it being decided to ask the public to assist in providing furniture; It was reported that there was little distress in the district. A few men who were on unemployed relief works had been equipped with boots and underclothing.
