FARM SCHOOL.
FROM JUNE 2 TO JUNE 11. TO BE HELD AT CLAUDELANDS.,, The great need of the day is some means whereby farmers' sons in particular can acquire a knowledge of the most up-to-date methods of agriculture durng the off months of the year.
. Realising this a number of progressives in the dairy industry have brought about the formation of an association for the pro'mdtidn l of a win-, ter farm scho6l. The association compries representatives of the N.ZI Co-op. Herd Testing Association, the Waikato A. and P. Association, the Winter Show Association and the Waikato Pig Recording Cub. It was realised that the cost to the students for the ten days.' course must be made as light as possible. By Ihe generosity of the A. and P. Association and the Trotting Club, the buildings at Claudelands have been given free of charge. Mr Paul is securing the necessary stretchers, etc., so that, the only cost to the students will be meals and a few shillings for lighting, the total cost of these to be £2 10s. All the work being honorary there will be no charge for the course itself.
The course will be under the direction of Dr. Annett, who will have the assistance of officers of the Department of Agriculture as well as of Mr C. M. Hume, Supervisor of Herd Testing, and Mr Peirson. Pig Recording officer. U, is expected that lectures will be given by Mr A. H. CockayneMr Bruce Levy, Mr Fawcett and others. The course, which is principally for farmers' sons and herd testing officers, will commence on June 2. concluding on June 11, so that the students will be able to visit the winter show during the concluding days of the show. Those desiring to take the course should communicate at once with the secretary. Mr C. Hope, Box 2f>o, Hamilton. Application's will close on May 25.
