STOLEN CAR.
RECOVERED AT TUAKAU. XEFT ABANDONED ON ROAD. Stolen from Gillies Avenue, Auckland, on Saturday evening, a Morris minor sedan was found abandoned near Black's bridge, on the Buckland-Tua-kau road, the following morning. The car is owned by Mr E. Paton, and was removed while he was visiting friends. The owner visited Tuakau on Tuesday and was given possession of the vehicle by Constable A. J. Maiden.
The thief or thieves drove the car until the benzine was exhausted, and then decamped with the ignition key. As far as can be ascertained no damage was done to the car. The police are investigating.
