NOTES FROM BOMBAY. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH SOCIAL. Considerable interest centred around a social gathering held in flie Bornbay Prosbyterian church recently in honour of Miss Mary Ingram, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Ingram, who was married last week. A very large attendance asemsbled. over which the Rev. D. Catfanach presided. In the early part of the evening a 'most enjoyable programme of competitions and indoor games was engaged in. Musical items were rendered by Misses Zena and Mona Anderton, M. Ingram and Mr Cattanach, and recitations by Mr K. Hamilton. The chairman called upon a scholar of the Sunday school, Alan Sinton. to make a presentation to Miss Ingram on behalf of the children. This took the form of a silver vase. A little speech was effectively made, the recipient responding briefly. The Rev. Cattanach Ihen called upon # representatives of the Bombay church and of the charge, to say a few words.

Mr J. B. McKinney referred to the high personal regard in which the guest of the evening was held in the district. He especially eulogised her willing service to the church as organist? a#d-,as a teacher in the Sunday school. The present occasion was a fitting one to express the thanks of the congregation to her. and to wish her and her fiance (who also belonged to the church) every • happiness Satoi? prosperity in the future. Mr J. W. Robinson conveyed the goodwill of the-> session -and • church generally to Miss Ingram on her approaching marriage.
