CHURCH DANCE.
EFFORT BY CATHOLICS. MOST SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION. On Tuesday evening the Star Theatre. Papakura, was the scene of a very enjoyable social and dance given by members of the Catholic church in aid of the church funds, and organised by the Rev. Father J. Duffy. Allison’s orchestra provided a very good selection of popular dance numbers, and the many charming and dainty frocks worn created a scene of gaiety. Ar Prizes for euchre were won by Ales- j dames Williamson and Hansby. Miss | G. Ross and partner were the lucky winners of the spot waltz. ) Among those present were: Mes- ( dames Frost. Hansby, Egan. William-i son, Hansby, Harrison, Lacassie. Fitzpatrick, Aloss and Green. Miss I). Davies wore purple taffeta: Miss E. Renwick, apricot crepe dc chine: [Miss ,T. Hollis, daffodil taffe.,u, Miss I. Campbell, daffodil rayon; Miss Hegg. daffodil corded moire taffeta: Miss Buckridge. green silk: Miss Ralph, white tulle and silver: Miss B. King peach taffeta: Misss G. Martin, pick crepe <le chine: [Miss D. [Mar!m, black georgette: Miss L. Grant, blue lace: Miss G. Ross, apricot crepe de chine: Miss McDowell, green and apricot crepe de chine: [Miss E. Robertson, blue satin:'Miss Egan, moss velvet. Miss H. Ryan, shot taffeta. The nexl dance given by the church will be an old-time one. with an oldtime orchestra.
