Annual Charity Ball. The Bethesda Rebekah Lodge will hold its annual charity ball in the Oddfellows' hall on Tuesday, July 8, 1930.

Fire destroyed the six-roomed residence of Mr T. A. McNaught, situated on the Te Kohanga road, at about 9.30 this morning. Further details are not available.

Meetings of Suppliers. The annual district meetings of suppliers to the New Zealand Co-op-erative Dairy Company, Ltd., will be held shortly. Alterations to dates of several meetings are announced in this issue.

Businesses Change Hands. Mr C. McKinnon, who has conducted the Bombay store for'the past six years, has disposed of the business to Mr E. 0. Norrington, of Auckland. Mr R. Sinton has purchased the butchery business of Mr A. Maitland, of Bombay.

Buckland Hockey Dance. On Saturday evening a dance was held by the Buckland girls' hockey club. Mr Gordon Wilcox was M.C., and music was provded by Whitehead's orchestra. In spite of the inclement weather there was a good attendance.

World's Air Record Broken.

Messrs C. C. Wakefield and Co., Ltd, announce that an Italian, Commander Maddalina, has succeeded in breaking the world's air endurance and distance records for the closed circuit, by remaining aloft 67 hours 15 minutes. •

Otaua Drainage Board. The monthly meeting of the Otaua Drainage Board was held on Thursday, there being present, Messrs' A. B. Ghezzi (chairman), T. McDonald, D. Neil and W. Sampson (clerk). The members inspected the pump installed on the barge for the removal of silt from the main drain and expressed satisfaction with its operation.
